Article 15: Fruit and vegetable juices don't necessarily lead to weight loss; hypothyroidism patients can also lose weight.

Fruit and vegetable juice for weight loss
It is fruits and vegetables, not fruit and vegetable juices, that promote detoxification in the human body.
In recent years, the method of losing weight through fruit and vegetable juices seems to have become very popular.
After all, fruit and vegetable juice contains both fruit and vegetables, which sounds nutritious and healthy.
We often see many people taking photos and posting them on social media with freshly squeezed fruit and vegetable juice, using it to replace their regular diet for weight loss.
So, can fruit and vegetable juice really help with weight loss?
The answer is no.
The only advantage of fruit and vegetable juice is that it allows people who don't like eating vegetables and fruits to "drink" them.
To put it bluntly, it's just lazy behavior. How can lazy people lose weight?
On the contrary, most people should not drink fruit and vegetable juices.
Compared to fresh fruits and vegetables, most of the most important nutrients (vitamins and dietary fiber) are lost in fruit and vegetable juices after the juice is pressed.
At the same time, fruit and vegetable juices may make you eat more.
To give a simple example, when eating oranges, you usually eat 1 or 2 at a time, but when drinking orange juice, you can easily drink a whole glass, right? However, a glass of orange juice requires 5 to 6 oranges to be juiced, which immediately increases the calorie content.
Of course, you might say, "I'm drinking fruit and vegetable juice, not pure fruit juice." The principle is the same, just not as exaggerated as the 5 to 6 times mentioned earlier.
As for the claim that fruit and vegetable juices can detoxify the body, I want to tell them that it is the fruits and vegetables that detoxify, not the fruit and vegetable juices.
Fresh fruits and vegetables need to be chewed more before they can be eaten. The chewing process also promotes intestinal peristalsis, which is more effective in detoxifying than drinking fruit and vegetable juice.
Another method for losing weight using fruit and vegetable juices is to choose 1-2 days a week and drink only fruit and vegetable juices without eating any other food.
This weight loss method is essentially fasting; the fruit and vegetable juice diet is just a fancy name for it.
This kind of fruit and vegetable juice fast is not much different from water fast or milk fast.
My personal suggestion is that if you're going to fast, it's best to choose intermittent fasting, which means consuming about 500 kcal of food on the day of fasting. This is a safer approach.
Moreover, for people with weak constitutions, fasting can easily lead to blood and qi deficiency and insufficient vital energy.
I suggest using some traditional Chinese medicine or dietary therapy to maintain your vital energy.
Finally, the following groups of people may consider drinking some fruit and vegetable juices to supplement their bodies with vitamins and fiber.
People with poor teeth: young children in the complementary feeding stage, elderly people who cannot chew food at all or have no teeth.
People with poor digestion: those who have particularly poor digestion, cannot eat fruit, and have a poor appetite.
People who are malnourished or have low blood sugar.

Hypothyroidism makes it difficult to lose weight
Normal medication use to maintain thyroid function generally does not affect weight loss.
Hypothyroidism is a condition that many people have heard of, and some people suffer greatly from it.
Data from 2017 shows that the incidence of clinical hypothyroidism in my country was 1.1%, and the incidence of subclinical hypothyroidism was 13.7%.
The incidence of hypothyroidism in women is 10 times that in men; roughly one in ten adult women suffers from hypothyroidism.
Hypothyroidism is a condition characterized by underactive thyroid.
The main function of the thyroid gland is to secrete thyroxine, which is a very important hormone in the human body. It is responsible for regulating the metabolism of various tissues in the body, maintaining the metabolic rate, and playing a vital role in the body's energy metabolism.
This is why many people with hypothyroidism are prone to giving up on themselves, feeling that since they already have hypothyroidism, there is no hope of losing weight, so they might as well give up and throw caution to the wind.
However, the idea that hypothyroid patients cannot lose weight is a lie. The truth is that as long as medication is taken normally to maintain normal thyroid function, it generally does not affect weight loss.
Why am I so confident in saying this? Because I have helped many patients with hypothyroidism lose weight.
A while ago, an aunt came to my personal studio. She suffers from hypothyroidism and takes two levothyroxine sodium tablets every day. After taking the medication for a period of time, a follow-up examination showed that her thyroid function was basically maintained at a normal level.
She had tried exercising before, but she hadn't lost weight despite running and jumping rope.
But after following my yellow diet for 20 days, I actually lost weight! I went from 68.9 kg to 66.4 kg.
As you can see, there's no need to worry too much if you have hypothyroidism. As long as you use medication to adjust your thyroid function to a normal state, you can lose weight just like anyone else.
The reason you can't lose weight is because your weight loss methods are wrong.
If you find the right method, what can hypothyroidism do to you?
However, it should be noted that levothyroxine sodium tablets taken by hypothyroid patients, which supplement the body with thyroid hormones, are easily interfered with by soy milk and dairy products, so these foods should be consumed at intervals.
How long should the interval be exactly? Different doctors have different opinions, some say 1 hour, some say 2 hours, and some say 4 hours.
This leaves many people unsure how to take their medication.
Actually, a very simple method is to take levothyroxine sodium tablets at night.
I consulted an endocrinologist about this method, and he also thought it was feasible. Levothyroxine sodium tablets just need to be taken every day, and the specific time of day doesn't matter much.
Since hypothyroidism is so unpleasant and has a high incidence rate, I hope everyone can understand the causes of hypothyroidism.
1. Congenital malformation. Hypothyroidism can be caused by thyroid hypoplasia, a lack of thyroid hormone synthase and receptors.
2. Medical malpractice. Iodine-131 treatment in patients with hyperthyroidism is one of the causes of hypothyroidism, and other treatments for hyperthyroidism (such as surgery) can also lead to hypothyroidism.
3. Autoimmune diseases, such as Hashimoto's thyroiditis.
4. Pituitary diseases.
5. Excessive dieting for weight loss.
Having explained so many reasons, the most important thing I want to remind everyone of is the last one.
Some people, in pursuit of rapid weight loss, go on extreme diets and abuse themselves, mistaking self-torture for self-discipline. As a result, they experience symptoms such as fatigue, cold intolerance, and apathy. Upon examination at the hospital, they are diagnosed with hypothyroidism.
Excessive dieting disrupts metabolism and is actually very detrimental to weight loss.
I would like to remind everyone that weight loss should not be rushed; a healthy and scientific approach is the key to weight loss.
If you have time, you can take a look at my book, "Fat Loss Lifestyle: Basal Metabolic Rate Weight Loss Method".
The close relationship between obesity and high blood pressure, heart disease, and gallstones.
This article details the three main mechanisms by which obesity leads to hypertension: hemodynamic changes, endocrine disorders, and genetic factors. It also analyzes why obese individuals are more prone to heart disease, including increased cardiac workload and coronary atherosclerosis. Furthermore, it explains the high incidence of gallstones in obese individuals-elderly blood lipids lead to...

This article uses research data to confirm that obesity significantly shortens life expectancy, with a 90% increase in mortality among those over 40% overweight. It also highlights the dangers of childhood obesity: obese children have an average lifespan shortened by 10 years in adulthood, a mortality rate more than 30% higher, and are a precursor to many chronic diseases in adulthood. There...
2026-05-26**Dieting leads to a decrease in basal metabolic rate and an increased risk of binge eating disorder**
**Excess fat can easily lead to adult-onset diseases, and improper weight loss can actually reduce muscle mass.** Dieting lowers basal metabolic rate, putting the body into energy-saving mode. Once normal eating resumes, a yo-yo effect can occur. Long-term appetite suppression can also lead to bulimia nervosa, characterized by uncontrollable binge eating and vomiting, severely impacting social...
